WordPress Plugin ideas

I am looking to create my first wordpress plugin. I already have one idea for that plugin but I am also interested in the needs of others.

I think this already exists but I’m not sure how great the current version is: A facebook-esque “like” option on posts, so that people who want to let the author know they liked the post without actually leaving a comment, can do so.

Rose: I know there is a similar feature for comments. I saw it on http://dailycotcodac.ro. Perhaps that same plugin can be used for posts as well?

I was also looking for something like it since WordPress.com allow one *really* nice “Like” button.

It won’t allow you to see “who” likes your post but how many.

My plugin that I STILL need is listing an author’s posts sorted by category. Haven’t even started it, however.

If someone could accomplish the plugin that I need, I would be forever grateful. I run a blog with multiple authors and on the author’s page, I would love to be able to list under their name each post they have written by grouped by category

One idea could be calling the category widget on the authors page and filter on the basis of his/her posts
