    So I just bought my domain name and am looking for a place to host it. I bought the domain through Go-Daddy, but I am not sure I want to host it there. Anyone have good feedback or recommendations for a particular company? I am trying to avoid a bad experience.. :)

    I have been using HostGator for a few years now and I have no complaints. My sites have always been running great with them.

    I would HIGLY recommend Hawk Host. They’ve been my host for a couple years now and have noticed zero downtime and support is fantastic!

    I recommend Dreamhost. I’ve been with them for a while now and I have no downtime. You can use the promo code CHRISTINA588 and get a free domain too!

    I use Site5 and have been with them since 2004. They have excellent customer support and if there are any problems they are quick to correct them. If you use the code FREEDOMAIN and you get a free domain with signup!

    Highly recommend them.

    Fat Cow, they are real nice and well. In the end really, they are all real nice and never buggy. I had problem with HostGator, DreamHost and BlueHost tho …

    What’s your budget? What kind of support response times do you need? What kind of space/bandwidth requirements do you have?

    See, I could just recommend my personal favourite (clook) but they’re not cheap, especially when you compare their package sizes to others listed here. However, the support is second to none – better than site5, geekstorage and multiple others I’ve used over the years. Probably a little OTT in terms of price if you just want to host a small private blog though.

    I do not recommend GatorHost, I hd problem after problem with them. They never replied to support tickets.

    That’s beside the point though. I’m going to assume that you want basic hosting? I would recommend CBD-Hosting.net, if they’re accepting hosting. :) I’d be happy to host you too if you would like. I have the space. I pretty much just host myself.
