    Hello,

I’ve been doing this for nearly 15 years. All self-taught.

Started out building dynamic websites in ASP/VBScript, ASP/Server Side Javascript, MS SQL dbs. More recently I have jumped over to PHP/MySql, and just now getting into frameworks, like CakePHP.

I am very much a late bloomer, and have been pretty alone in my developing.

I am trying to turn over a new leaf and open my eyes to all the possibilities out there in coding. I have recently realized by not being ‘out’ there in the coder community, I have done myself a great disservice by not learning/sharing with others.

    Nice to meet ya

Hi there, welcome to GWG. :D

That’s really amazing that you worked with all these technologies.

Do you have a favorite? Which one? Why?

Hmmm…a favorite? that’s tough. I have got to say I am loving the cakePHP framework. I have been custom coding so much, that every time i start a new website I cringe. I had been using a custom asp/javascript framework. But I needed to step into this century. So we decided to do a project in cakePHP.

The framework gives me a solid foundation, now I can focus on the fun part.

Well I understand that ASP is somewhat similar to ASP.NET, and the latter is definitely not outdated. Neither is js for that matter. :)

Granted, I only know a few theoretical concepts of ASP, as I only worked with ASP.NET. Prefer PHP to it, so much more free/open source stuff available for it, compared to ASP.NET
