Hi and thank you for this useful tutorial. I’m not really expert at php, but I managed to use the form in my web site (and it works!). The only thing is, I continuosly get spams from a couple of e-mail addresses. Is there any way to block a specific e-mail adress, like a “black list” or something similar?

There are times when you want to use an external script to do that especially when your not good or familiar with Jquery, but your right, Jquery has made things simple.

Because, ‘you know’, this was written in 2007. jQuery was still in its infancy & we didn’t know at the time if it was going to catch on. (There’s also the small but less important factor of sometimes wanting to do something without including a whole library to do it.)

Of course, you could have offered to write an addendum or indeed an extra post explaining this and instead you had to be a smartarse. Good job!

I think the example that says to escape apostrophes is missing its backlash. Would be ‘I\’m escaping any additional apostrophes!’ right?
